VeganInFrance: We took the plunge and moved to France in October last year ...we bought an old stone property that was habitable. ..after some serious cleaning and endless trips to the dechetterie (dump) .The house has 3 bedrooms and an attached barn with another barn opposite which we hope to convert at a later date. ....so , to use the proverbial cliché used by the estate agents ...we have a place with potential. .....at the moment the potential is to cause a divorce. ....I joke that we're "living the scream " We love the location and the surrounding area. So peaceful and I love the unspoiled natural beauty and the flora and fauna.I can spend hours with binoculars trying to identify the great array of birds that flit in and out of our trees and shrubs. The garden gently slopes down and we have a small wood on our southern boundary. The reclaiming of some semblance of order to the garden and making a clearing for the vegetable patch has proved far more time consuming and physically challenging than we imagined. ...so the necessary internal updating and renovating has been painfully slow.
