Golden Oriole Bird
This tropical sounding birdsong has driven me potty.I have spent hours and subsequently driven my husband potty trying to spot the bird for identification. Finally ,about 2 weeks ago ,when our cherry trees were ready for harvesting these elusive birds swept in and had a cherry feast. They were the brightest canary yellow with distinctive black bands on their wings and I watched spellbound.
I managed to call my husband to see them and he was amazed at
the sight. This in itself is amazing as it is usually only things with 4
wheels that capture his attention.
They left minutes later with only their distinctive calls fading into the distance.
A truly breathtaking spectacle which although only lasting a
few minutes was so special. ...I'm so pleased we both managed to see
them.
The birds are the rarely seen as they tend to stay in tree tops ,usually in the early morning or evenings.
I heard them again this morning and although couldn't see them
managed to record their birdsong. ..hiding under the walnut tree!
